I honestly didn’t think there was going to be anything else after Tokyo Ghoul √A. Fans were divided with whether it was good as it didn’t follow the original manga but rather was an alternate story spun by Sui Ishida (the original author of Tokyo Ghoul). To me it was…hard to watch. I have read the manga and know the story like the back of my hand but I wondered about the people who hadn’t or probably never will. Did they understand what happened? Or were they just confused the entire time?
*I will do a review of both Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul √A and compare them to the manga.
Tokyo Ghoul:re, as stated on the official website, is going to take place two years after Tokyo Ghoul √A. It’s been three years since √A aired so I may do a quick binge before :re starts (which is apparently April 3rd) There isn’t much information on :re aside from a recently released second trailer. I’m interested to see how :re is executed. With being a bit underwhelmed with √A, I have my fingers crossed for this.
What are your thoughts? Are you going to watch Tokyo Ghoul:re?
